tuesday trivia #4 – the question

Here are eight “everyday” products one might buy both in Africa and also in the States.  For each product decide whether the cost we pay in Mozambique is: 1. Roughly the same, 2. More expensive, 3.  Less expensive, or 4.  You can’t even find that product in Mozambique (ie: you brought the pictured product with you in your suitcase or bought it in South Africa or Swaziland).  The products are:  Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo, a six-pack of Coca-Cola, 1 liter of whole milk, men’s deodorant/antiperspirant, a pack of diapers (the store brand), a package of Lay’s potato chips (125 g bag – ie: the gas station size), 100 index/flash cards, and a jar of decaffeinated instant coffee.

Well now this is a tough one. Not too much info on this when you Google it, yes I am a cheater that is why I didnt answer the last one. So I shall take a stab:
Not available in Mozambique:Shampoo, deoderant,Lay’s potato chips
Six pack of Coke, less than ours
Litre of whole milk, more than ours( Question is it pasteurized and is it from a cow?)
    Diapers, less than ours
100 index cards, more than ours
decaf coffee, less than ours (cant see drinkin too much of this without clean water)

  3. mom says:

    diapers more then US
    coffee more then US

    coca cola LESS THEN US
    milk MORE THEN US

    deoderant more thenUS

    chips more thenUS
and you brought the baby shampoo with you and got the file cards in south africa which cost
    more then we would pay.

Diapers, Coke, Index cards, Deodorant, Chips, and Milk—MORE THAN what we pay in the US

I think you brought the baby shampoo and coffee (for fear that they wouldn’t have it in Mozambique–and we all know how important it is that people have their coffee! haha)

Hi Guys! Just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your blog and we’ve been thinking about you and praying for you and your ministry!

I also had a request, though. I admit that I check the blog about once a week to 10 days, mostly looking for the trivia questions and answers! They’re great! But oftentimes I miss either the question or the answer, and it drives me crazy! Is there anyway to set up the “recent entries” section to be a few more than 10? Or provide a url link back to the question? That’s all. Thanks. :)

I’ll guess you brought the deodorant and baby shampoo with you. I think everything else might be cheaper than the U.S.

  6. beth says:

More than US – Diapers, Milk, Instant Coffee

What you brought with you – Index Cards, Johnson’s Baby Shampoo, Speed Stick

Less than US – Coke, Lays chips
